As a
model for the formation and function of CNS circuits, we are studying the
development of the locomotor network in zebrafish by a combination of
neurophysiological and genetic approaches.
We record the activity patterns of spinal cord and hindbrain neurons
during development in wild-type zebrafish and in genetically modified embryos,
including by transgenesis, upon antisense gene 'knockdown' and in mutations of
single genes that affect locomotion. Our long-term goal is to elucidate the
molecular choreography of locomotor network formation and function. |
